I wanted to take the opportunity to send out some upcoming dates for Eta Chapter and some important clarifying information as well.
For the December 4th meeting, the meal has changed. It will not be a buffet style, we will order off of the breakfast menu and our meal price will be based on what you order. In addition, I would like to encourage you to bring a guest that could be a potential member to our chapter to attend our meeting. Please pass along this information to those you know.
Dear Eta Chapter Sisters,
I hope that you and your family are doing well since our last gathering of Eta Chapter in September. I am looking forward to seeing each of you at our upcoming November shoebox packing and our annual December Holiday Auction. We will be packing shoeboxes in my kindergarten classroom on Wednesday, November 18th at 4:00 p.m. You will need to wear a mask while in my classroom. We are in need of the following donation items:
bars of soap
dolls and toys for boys
Feel free to bring the donation items with you when you come to help pack shoeboxes or you can drop donations off at my house or to Beall Elementary.
In addition to packing shoeboxes in November, we will also be holding our annual holiday breakfast auction on Saturday, December 4th at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Cumberland Country Club and the cost of the breakfast meal will be $14.50. Please RSVP to Sandy Stevens by December 1st/. I am looking forward to seeing you at both events!

Dear ETA Sisters:
I am hoping that this letter finds you and your family well. As we are all aware of the current restrictions of the COVID-19 Pandemic, our organization is being affected by those same restrictions as well. Though right now we are not able to safely meet in person, we can still play an active role in our community, state organization, and support one another during this time.
As I begin my first year as Eta Chapter President, my theme will be, “Sprinkle Kindness and Support.” My goal during this upcoming year will be for us to provide support to each other and spread kindness to those around us. Our first way to spread kindness and support will be through our annual Operation Christmas Child Project. This project will look a little different this year.
You can participate in 4 ways:
I am looking forward to each of you participating in this worthwhile annual project. Although it will be slightly different this year, Eta Chapter can still make a difference for these children all around the world. If we do not have your email, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can add your email to Eta Chapter’s contact list. I would like to be able to have a virtual meeting in December or January and you will need to provide an email address in order to participate. Enclosed with this letter is an Operation Christmas Child donation list and a current membership contact list with addresses and phone numbers. I encourage you to make a difference in a child’s life and/or in the community as you advance our purposes. Please continue to be well, and take care of yourself and your families.

Seventeen Eta Chapter sisters gathered at The Toasted Goat in Frostburg for their December meeting and annual auction. After the business meeting, they enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast at the recently renovated historic location, a task undertaken by a local educator and his family. The highlight of the morning was the auction to raise funds for the Eta Chapter Aspiring Educator Scholarship given each June to a female local high school senior. A plethora of items were graciously donated by the sisters to this worthy cause. Happy Holidays!
